A Magical Gateway to Adventure
Do you remember the first time you stepped into a game world that truly took your breath away? For me, Atlantis: The Lost Tales was that game. It was my very first point-and-click adventure game as a child. I’ve always been fascinated by the mystery of the lost island of Atlantis, and when I first started this game, I was instantly captivated by its atmosphere, mystique, and breathtaking world. Remember, I was just a kid and it was the 90’s.

What is Atlantis: The Lost Tales?
Released in 1997 by Cryo Interactive, Atlantis: The Lost Tales is a classic point-and-click adventure where you play as Seth, a young guard who becomes entangled in a conspiracy surrounding the disappearance of Atlantis’ Queen. The game is known for its beautiful graphics (for its time…), unique storytelling, and complicated puzzles that truly test your patience, problem-solving skills, and, in some moments, even your stress tolerance – at least for me anyway.

My Experience with the Game
I remember the first time my dad introduced me to Atlantis: The Lost Tales. He started playing while I watched, but soon, I wanted to play myself. I was fascinated by the game’s aesthetics, its cinematic feel, and the challenging puzzles. The story was so immersive, and the atmospheric music shifted to dramatic tones as the mystery deepened. The detailed environments and first-person perspective made it feel as if I was truly walking through the lost civilization’s world.
This game sparked my love for point-and-click and puzzle games, bringing a sense of cozy gaming – except for the parts where you have to navigate a labyrinth while trying to avoid running into a Minotaur…
